Marcella Ferne Delaney, age 82, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Holzer Health Systems of Jackson. She was born January 5, 1932 in Oak Hill, Ohio to Homer and Lula (Boggs) Yates.
She was well known for transporting children to and from Hope Haven and J-Vac Industries for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Rita (Mike) Carpenter of Oak Hill, Ohio; a son, Joe Delaney of Oak Hill; four grandchildren, Charles (Nikki) Carpenter, Suzanne (Jeff) Turner, Tee (Casey) Carpenter, and Keith carpenter, all of Oak Hill; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents is her husband Charles “Aken” Delaney, as well as an infant son, Roger Kent.
Friends may call Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio on Friday, January 31, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, at C. M.
