Virginia “Jenny” June Roof, age 75, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at Heartland of Jackson. She was born December 24, 1937 to the late Turner and Essie (Malone) Saunders.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Roof; son, Ronnie Roof; brother, Gene Saunders; sisters, Helen Lambert and Ester Coleman; additionally, two infants at birth.
She is survived by sons, Dean Roof and Jim (Anita) Roof; grandchildren, Tara, Josh, Lacie, Ronald Paul, Andrew, Brittany; and three great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lewis and Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio. A funeral service will be held at Lewis & Gillum of Oak Hill on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill, Ohio.
