Alfred “Alf-Jiggs” Ellsworth Holloway

Alfred “Alf-Jiggs” Ellsworth Holloway, age 85, of Oak Hill, Ohio went home to be with his loved ones on Thursday, November 7, 2013. He was born May 29, 1928 in West Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Thomas and Gladys (Simpson) Holloway. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. During his time in the military he was awarded two Bronze Stars, and was a Purple Heart recipient. He retired from Davis Trucking.

He is survived by his children, John (Donna) Harless, of Pedro, Ohio; Jeff (Kelly) Holloway, of Jackson, Ohio; Brenda Miller, Sandra Deadman, Rosie (Moose) Baker-Holloway, Bryan Holloway, Myra McGinnis, Jeremy (Talisha) Holloway, and Charles Miller, all of Oak Hill, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, including his beloved grandkids, Steven and Erin Baker; and four great-grandchildren, including Emily also known as Cookie Monster.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his wife, Annette (Clay) Holloway; brother, Leonard (Popeye) Holloway; daughter, Dale McNellis; sister, Helen Holloway; and grandson, Matthew Miller.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio. Services will be held at the convenience of the family, with burial at Rehobeth Cemetery in Lawrence County.
