Robert L. “Bob” Morris

Robert L. “Bob” Morris, age 77, of Jackson, Ohio, son of the late William and Rebecca Perkins Morris, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2013. He was born in Wurtland, Kentucky on June 25, 1936.

One of 24 siblings, he is survived by sister, Marie Pratt, Huron, Ohio; wife, Linda Cheadle Ross Morris; children: Robert L. (Penny) Morris Jr. (daughters Holly (two sons) and Suzanne (Chris) Sorrel (two daughters); Larry E. (Valarie) Morris (son Aaron, daughter Megan (Mike) Shively); Vickie (Sam) Johnson (son Samuel (Chrissy) (sons Cailen, Cooper Johnson and Joshua and soon to be family Jessica, Madison and Alyssa; Bill (Lisa) Ross (daughter Amberley (son Brylan) and son William; Doris (Tony) Pickens (daughter Dawn, son Ryan); Cindy (Ed) Davis (daughter Chelsey, son Caleb); Roger W. (Hannah) Ross (son Kye); special friends Dave and Heidi Demerest; several nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

He was a member of Local 18 IUOE for 46 years, a member of Sons of AmVets Post 84 and the Men’s Auxiliary VFW Post 8402. He loved the outdoors (shooting deer and drinking beer), his family, working on the farm, spending time in his garden and with his dogs Larry, Moe, Curly, Hobo and Tippy.

Friends may call at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Thursday, August 29, from 5 to 8 p.m., where funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Nelson Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Cemetery.
