Helen M. Barnett, 93 of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at Four Winds Community of Jackson. She was born December 18, 1919 in Jackson County to the late Orville and Carrie (Jenkins) Mercer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Barnett Sr.; sisters, Betty Wilson and Mildred Mercer; and brothers, Charles Mercer, Fred Mercer, Bill Mercer, Orville Mercer Jr., and Bob Mercer.
She is survived by sons, Carl (Sonny) Barnett Jr. and David Barnett of Jackson, Ohio; sisters, Margaret Duhl of Urbana, Ohio and Mary Baldwin of Jackson, Ohio; one brother, George (Marty) Mercer of Glen Roy; and also several nieces and nephews.
Helen was an Avon representative for 37 years, a dedicated mother, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the F.O.P. Women’s Auxiliary.
Friends may Call Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jackson, Ohio.
