Norma M. (Marlene) Baker

Norma M. Baker of Mansfield passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013 at her home. Norma (Marlene to the family) was born March 13, 1939, in Jackson, Ohio, to Harry and Ruth Perkins. She was the fifth of seven children. She was a graduate of Perrysville High School, Perrysville, Ohio, and class of 1957.

Norma has been in the local area since the early 60s. She is associated with the Coffee Cup Inn, P.A.E. Mansfield. Many friends and acquaintances were drawn to her through employments with Dominion Electric and the Flexible Bus Company in the early years.

She is survived by ex-husband, Gene Baker (father of their five sons). Surviving are sons, Stan, Greggory, Douglas, Adam, and Bradley Baker of Mansfield and their families; Beverly Baker, daughter-in-law; sisters, Fran Wood (Mansfield), Sue Fields (Kent) and Patricia Isles (Greensboro, NC); long-time friend and companion, Frank Elias of Lucas and 14 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth Perkins; brothers, Howard Lane and Donald Lee Perkins; sister, Wanda June Blair; sons, Stanley Baker and Douglas Baker; and uncles were Bain and Harley Perkins of Bloomfield Township.

Marlene wishes a special heart-felt thank you to all the family members and friends who chose to stand with her through this journey. She has many cousins and friends in the Jackson area. Cremation has taken place. Marlene will be laid to rest at the family Perkins Cemetery in Bloomfield Township near Jackson, Ohio, located on Bain Perkins Road, near Pattonsville Road.
