Winifred C. “Winnie” Blair

Winifred C. “Winnie” Blair, age 88, went to be with her Savior on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. She was born November 10, 1924 in Jackson, Ohio, daughter of Larry and Anna Cherrington. Winnie was the valedictorian of the Jackson High School graduating class of 1942. She went on to get her degree from business school in Columbus. She was a society editor of the Jackson Publishing Co. and she wrote the “Wandering Around With Winnie” column. She was a realtor for Century 21 Realty and then went on to get her broker’s license and established Winnie Blair Realty.

She is survived by sons, Lee (Jessie Ann) Blair of Waco, TX, Larry (Lois) Blair of Jackson, OH and Lynn (Shirley) Blair of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Susie (Ron) Rogers of Coal Grove, OH and Shirley Blair of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Chris Blair of Avon, IN, Danny (Brandi) Blair of Valley Mills, TX, Sara-Elizabeth (Joshua) Cottrell of Louisville, KY, Aaron (Lisa) Blair of Maineville, OH, Alan Blair and friend, Kristi Carter, of Stillwater, OK, Emily (Danny) Fields of Greenwood, IN, Julie (Bill) Fessell of Indianapolis, IN, and Jason (Toni) Rogers of Scott Depot, WV; five step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Anna Cherrington.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 2 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson with Diaconal Minister Janie Karl officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
