Megan Malone to give the toast for the Class of 1988 at the 137th Reunion and Program

The Jackson High School Alumni Association has chosen Megan Malone to give the toast for the Class of 1988 at its 137th Reunion and Program, set for Saturday evening, May 25, at the Jackson Middle School auditorium.

Malone currently lives in Jackson and is the director of the Lillian Jones Museum on Broadway Street in Jackson and worked as a newspaper reporter in previous years.

After growing up in Jackson and graduating from JHS, she enrolled at the University of Dayton and graduated in 1992 with a B.A. in Communications.

Malone worked as news and sports reporter for the Dayton Daily News, The Canton Repository, The Cleveland Plain Dealer and numerous other smaller newspapers throughout Ohio. She also spent 4 years in public information with the Stark County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.

After she and her family moved to Jackson in recent years, she became the director of the Lillian Jones Museum at 75 Broadway Street in Jackson. The museum is hosting a “JHS Memories” exhibit later this month in conjunction with the local alumni activities.

Malone lives in Jackson with her husband, Jeremy Harley, a graduate of the JHS Class of 1987, and their two daughters.

Malone is the daughter of Chuck Malone and the late Debby Denney Malone, who were both graduates of the JHS Class of 1968, and also the granddaughter of Mary Dauber Denney, a graduate of the JHS Class of 1938.

The 2013 JHS Alumni Reunion and Program will begin at 5:45 p.m., and admission is free. The event will feature special speakers representing classes observing milestone anniversary years.

The toastmaster will be Rodney Warner of the Class of 1953, and other toasters will be Mona Hutchinson Flax of the Class of 1963 and Kenny Valentine of the Class of 1973.

The JHS Alumni Association will once again be hosting its Happening event, immediately following the Reunion and Program, from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Jackson Area YMCA at 594 East Main Street. This event is a party open to all JHS alumni and their guests.

The price of admission includes a food buffet and musical entertainment from local DJ Tommy Hill.

Advance tickets cost $20 per person and can be purchased at A.L. Terry Jewelers, located at 214 Broadway Street in downtown Jackson during regular business hours. All tickets at the door will be $25 each.
