Mary Rose McKnight

Mary Rose McKnight, 83, passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 11, 2013, at the Four Winds Nursing Facility. She was born November 18, 1929.

She was preceded in death by loving and devoted husband, Earl F. McKnight, and by mother and father, Lettie May Adamson and Harold B. Adamson, and mother and father Eva and Harley McKnight.

Mary Rose is survived by her five children: daughter Cheryl and her husband Larry Baker who took loving and wonderful care of Mary Rose; daughter Patti and her husband Steve Thole who brought Mom her beloved Godiva candy; three sons, Herbert, Michael, and Buddy “Earl R.” McKnight.

Besides her children, Mary Rose is survived by Cheryl and Larry’s two daughters, Jessica Christine and Amanda Roseanne, who loved and visited with Grandma often; also by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Rose was active in archery in her younger years and was Ohio’s Class A Woman’s Field Archery Champion in 1959. She was featured in The Columbus Dispatch on August 2, 1959 in a story depicting her accomplishments and those of her late husband, Earl.

Mary Rose joined the Red Hat Purple Dress Society and was loved by all who knew her.

At Mary Rose’s request, there will be no services. Burial will be in the Coalton Cemetery by the Jenkins Funeral Chapel of Wellston.
