Gerald C. Fannin, 89, of Jackson, died Friday, March 15, 2013 at Holzer Assisted Living in Jackson. Born February 2, 1924 in Johnson County, Kentucky, a son of the late Charles Vencill and Donna C. Rice Fannin, he was a pipefitter, a member of Pipefitters Local 248 in Ashland, Kentucky, a member of Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465, and a member of Lucasville Order of the Eastern Star. He was a deacon and member of Candy Run United Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Roger (LaVonne) Fannin of Columbus, Paul Fannin of Jackson; five granddaughters, Penelope, Priscilla, Patience, Jennifer, Reed; eight great grandchildren, Timothy, Courtney, Symon, Brandon, Emily, Natalie, Derick, Julia; three great great grandchildren, Jeremy, Trinity, Paitynn; two sisters, Donna Martin, Phyllis Wells and one brother, Frank Fannin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Adaline Reed Fannin; one son, Gerald David Fannin; four brothers, Bryant W. Fannin, Charles Fannin, John Fannin, Granville Fannin and one sister, Mary Ealey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at Candy Run United Baptist Church with Brother Zane Murray and Elder Arvil Murray, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Ridge Cemetery in Jackson. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Masonic services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday by Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A.
