Ruth Martindill Wilson

Ruth Martindill Wilson, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2013 in Pensacola.

Born in Hamden, OH, Ruth graduated from Ohio University before her marriage in 1944 to Robert J. Wilson of Wellsville, NY. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an eduators’ honorary society. Ruth taught first grade for 18 years in Wellston, OH and Bolivar, NY.

In 1974, Ruth and Bob “Luke” moved to Florida, where they enjoyed 30 years of retirement, including 20 years at Sun Air Country Club. She and Bob enjoyed hosting many Golfweek Seniors golf tournaments. She moved to Pensacola in 2007.

Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents, Ernest and Sara Martindill; her siblings, William Martindill, Charles Martindill and Frances Mains; and her husband.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Sally Crenshaw of Pensacola and Bob Wilson of Surry, ME and granddaughters, Emily and Elizabeth.

Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 850 N. Blue Angel Parkway, with the Rev. Jandy Watkins officiating. A reception will follow at the church.
