Nathalie A. (Wright) Ruggles

Nathalie A. (Wright) Ruggles, age 92, of Beaver, Ohio, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2013, at Heartland of Jackson. She was born in Moundsville, WV, on January 18, 1921. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joseph B. Ruggles; her parents, Chalmer H. and Mildred V. (Maupin) Wright; one son, Philip M. Ruggles; one great-grandson, Isaiah Ruggles; and two brothers, Karl and Paul.

She is survived by five sons, Daniel Ruggles and wife Tara, Donald Ruggles and wife Linda, J. David Ruggles and wife Debra, Robert Ruggles and wife Susan, and Thomas Ruggles and wife Brenda. Also surviving is one brother, Richard and wife Leanna Wright; one step brother, John and wife Faye Wright, and one step-sister, Mary and husband John Miller; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was a loving wife and mother, and a kind, dear person who always made everyone feel welcome and right at home. She attended Asbury College, Lexington, KY, where she studied to be a Methodist missionary. However, before graduating, she met her husband-to-be and changed her plans to become a housewife and mother, supporting him as he continued his studies to obtain Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Asbury and the University of Kentucky, respectively.

In 1981, she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended services at the Jackson Ohio Kingdom Hall.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson, OH. Burial will be at Mountain Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Sunday, February 24, 2013 and from 11-1 on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the funeral home.
