Clarence L. Morris

Clarence L. Morris, age 88, of Oak Hill, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. He was born September 28, 1924 in Raceland, KY to the late Anthony and Edith (Bustetter) Morris. Clarence served his country in WW II and worked for Detroit Steel (Cyclops) in New Boston for 26 years.

He is survived by daughter, Beverly Clagg; six sisters, Eleanor Crabtree from Oak Hill, Elsie Barnett from Springfield, Dorothea Faye Janoska from Orlando, FL, Lorena Hampton from Brandon, FL, Frankie Mae Moscatello from Tampa, FL, and Carol Jean Young from Hammond, IN; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Wilma Morris.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ruth (Hughes) in 1978; son, Terry; brother, Leonard; sister, Evelyn Fields; and one grandson, David.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill, OH with Rev Bryon Carmon officiating. Burial will follow at Horeb Cemetery with a military DAV, Chapter 45, graveside service. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2013 at the funeral home.
