Melvin L. Pearce

Melvin L. Pearce, age 77, of Circleville, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at OSU Medical Center. Melvin was born May 27, 1935, in Radcliff, Ohio, son of the late Jay and Fannie (Riley) Pearce.

Melvin was devoted to his family and was a very loving and giving man. He was generous and kind hearted and loved to put a smile on your face. He was a man whom everyone around him loved. Melvin loved the Cincinnati Reds, old country music and NASCAR. He was retired from American Aggregates with 23 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia (Ward) Pearce; step children Debbie (Charlie) Conrad of Chillicothe, Mike Bethel and Cindy Ossing, both of Columbus; brother Merrill (Gail) Pearce of Waverly; grandchildren Shelly (Mike) Dennis, Brian Ossing, Ryan (Lynette) Conrad and Angela (Steve) Chapman; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; very special nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Margaret Zervis and Alberta Parsons; brothers Ovid, Donald, Charles and Harold.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the McArthur Nazarene Church, 523 N. Market St., McArthur, with Pastor Bill Roth officiating. Interment to follow at Radcliff Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
