Phyllis A. Carter of Oak Hill, OH, age 69, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, OH. She was born in Oak Hill on September 30, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Norma Crabtree. She was united in marriage to Merle Carter on June 30, 1962. She enjoyed family and was especially proud of her grandsons.
Phyllis is survived by husband, Merle Carter of Oak Hill; daughter, Tammy (Jaim) George of Ewington, OH; grandsons, Mason and Garrison George of Ewington, OH, Evan and Eli Carter of Oak Hill; brother and sisters, Joey (Mary) Crabtree, Linda (Ollie) Adkins of Oak Hill, and Debbie (Mike) Coleman of Oak Hill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by a son, Michael F. Carter; daughter-in-law, Tina Carter; infant daughter, Michelle A. Carter; sister, Freda Beck of Columbus; and brothers, Johnny Crabtree and Tommy Crabtree of Oak Hill.
Friends may call on Tuesday, December 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, OH. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 19 at 1 p.m. at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill, OH with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill.
