William Wayne Funk, age 49, of Byer, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. He was born February 24, 1963 in Marion, Ohio. Wayne was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing and camping.
He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Ann Blair King of Byer; children, William Neil Funk of Cincinnati, Tina Funk of Cincinnati, Tabitha Funk of Wellston, Travis Funk of Marion and Mary Jo Funk of Marion; brothers, Steven Funk of Wellston, James Funk of Kentucky and Daniel Funk of Marion, as well as several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, William Richard Funk; brother, Darrin Dwayne Funk and grandparents, Lloyd and Faye Williams and Curtis and Letha Funk.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Fout officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Ridge Cemetery with military honors by the D.A.V.
