Benjamin M. “Ben” Bowles

Benjamin M. “Ben” Bowles, age 34, of Hamden, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was born July 7, 1978 in Columbus, Ohio.

Ben was a 1997 graduate of Buckeye Hills Career Center and a 1998 graduate of the Vinton County High School. He was a former employee of Southern Ohio Lawn and Landscaping and was an active crew member for Kayla’s Midway in Hamden. To help save the lives of others, Ben was an organ donor.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jo Perry Bowles; three-year-old daughter, Diana Elizabeth Bowles; mother and step-father, Debra and David Pollard of Albany; brother, Daniel Pollard of Albany; sister, Jenny Sue Bowles of Florida; grandmothers, Anna Harding of Florida and Tony McCullum of Columbus; uncle and aunt, Frank and Phyllis Cantrell of Hamden, as well as several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ben was preceded in death by his brother, Marshall R. Bowles II; grandfather, Robert Harding; step-grandfather, Bill McCullum; father-in-law, Tom Perry; mother-in-law, Diana Baker Ficek, and his great-aunt, Grace Timmins.

Calling hours will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Maggie Home Church in Dundas where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Elder Donald Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mullins Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate contributions be given to McWilliams Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
