Meredith R. “Mutt” Crabtree

Meredith R. “Mutt” Crabtree, 56, of Chillicothe, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at his home, following an extended illness.

He was born April 25, 1956 in Oak Hill, Ohio to Arnold and Ressie Rawlins Crabtree, who survive. On June 30, 2003 he married the former Barbara L. Pettit, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Kelli (Drew) Cheadle, Mike (Ashley Seymour) Crabtree, Rachel (Brandon Castle) Crabtree, Matthew Crabtree, all of Chillicothe, J.T. Lemon, of Laurelville, Nathan Crabtree, of Chillicothe, and Ashley Allemann, of Leesburg; four grandchildren, Dakota, Dallas and Aiden Cheadle; and Braylon Castle; two sisters, Jewel (Bill) Poling and Pam (Jeff) Brown, of Lancaster; a brother, Randy (Karen) Crabtree, of Thurman, Ohio; his mother and father-in-law, John and Rosemary Pettit; brothers-in-law, Allen (Tina), Steve (Rhonda), and Tim (Denise) Pettit; and a special friend, Mini.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Crabtree and a sister, Connie Crabtree.

Mr. Crabtree was a 24 year employee of Kenworth Truck Co. He was an outdoorsman, a gardener, and was known as a “Mr. Fix It.” He was a very loving family man.

Funeral services will be held 1p.m. Monday at the Haller Funeral Home, Fred Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Haller’s.
