Wanda Gail Pittenger

Wanda Gail Pittenger, 80, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Sunday morning, Nov. 4, 2012 in the Valley View Alzheimers Care Center, Frankfort following an extended illness. She was born Oct. 10, 1932 in Wellston, OH, the daughter of Herschel L. and Clara O. (Suthers) Richards. On Feb. 1, 1957 she married Richard Pittenger who preceded her in death May 25, 1991.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Rocky White, Bainbridge; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Tammy Pittenger, Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a half brother, Dennis Richards, FL. Her parents, sons, Timothy and Barry, a half sister, Evelyn, a half brother, Stanley and her beloved dog, Dolly preceded her in death.

Wanda was the owner of Travel Wanda’s Way for several years and later was an associate of Shawnee Travel, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Unite Methodist Church and loved animals.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. David Titler officiating. Burial will follow in Hamden Cemetery, Hamden, OH. Calling hours will not be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
