Rachel Ann Johnson, age 95, passed away Saturday October 6, 2012 at Holzer Medical Center. She was born October 3, 1917 in Blackfork, Ohio to the late Harve and Nannie Lee (Carroll) Evans.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hayden Johnson. They were united in marriage August 26, 1938 and to this union were born eight children. She is also preceded in death by two sons, David Edwards and Billy Johnson, daughter-in-law, Irene Edwards and seven brothers and sisters.
Rachel leaves behind four daughters, Wilma Jean (Steward) Fulk, Emma Lee Williams, Betty Bachtel, Lenora (Orion) Johnson; two sons, Rick (April) Johnson and Steven (Debbie) Johnson; daughter-in-law, Mildred Johnson; 25 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Donna Evans Locke.
Rachel was a charter member of the Oak Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Mike Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Blackfork Cemetery.
