Steven D. Rader

Steven D. Rader, 58, of Wellston, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in El Paso, Texas, on February 21, 1954, son of the late Col. Thomas O. Rader USAF, RET. and M. Donise Stroth Rader of Wellston. He was a 1972 graduate of Bellevue High School in Bellevue, Nebraska. He was a former line manager at Mills Pride in Waverly, Ohio.

Surviving is his son, Sean M. Rader, of Wellston; Sean’s mother, LaRae Rader, of Colorado; a brother, John T. Rader, of Wellston; a sister, Linda (Jim) Branson, of Cleveland, Ohio; a niece, Jamie (Matt) Harding and their son, Branson, of Seville, Ohio; and cousins.

During his life, Steve traveled widely and became interested in many hobbies, including skindiving in the South Pacific and archeological activities in the Jackson County vicinity, finding relics such as clay beads and arrow heads. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

Friends may call at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of his memorial service at 1 p.m., officiated by J. B. King. Steven’s final place of rest will be the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston at a later date. Visit jenkinschapel@frontier.com.
