Abraham L. Preece

Abraham L. Preece, age 94, of Sykesville, Maryland and formerly of Hamden, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Homestead of Sun Valley Assisted Living. He was born October 3, 1917 in Inez, Kentucky, the son of the late Cornelius and Mary Preece. Abraham was a Veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Ann Preece of Dravosburg, PA and Larry and Sally Preece of Sykesville, MD; grandchildren, David (Elise) Preece of White Oak, PA, Dan (Shannon) Preece of Amelia, OH, Michael (Lisa) Preece of Glenwood, MD, Tim (Paige) Preece of Marietta, GA, and Melanie (Thomas Ellis) Wigton of Glen Burnie, MD. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren, one brother and three sisters.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Bishop Preece and his daughter, Sandra Preece Wigton, as well as nine brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating.
