Lawrence Franklin Salts, 87, of Hamden, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at Holzer Assisted Living in Jackson. He was born May 21, 1925 in Hamden, Ohio, son of the late Ottie and Dena Castle Salts.
Lawrence was married to the late Helen Leach Salts. He retired from ODOT and was a WW II Army Veteran. Lawrence attended Methodist Churches, was a 60 year member of the Sereno Chapter #128 OES, the McArthur VFW Post #5299 and was an avid farmer. He was a 60-year member of Delta Lodge #207 F&AM in McArthur and the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus.
Lawrence is survived by his daughter, Patricia (John) Showman of Obetz; grandchildren, Sonya and Ean Showman; a sister, Carol Cottrill of Hamden and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur, with Rev. Rodney Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery, McArthur, with military graveside services being conducted by the McArthur VFW Post #5299. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. with Masonic services being held at 7 p.m. and Eastern Star services being held at 7:30 p.m. Please sign his online guestbook at www.cardaras.com
