Billy C. “Bill” Belcher

Billy C. “Bill” Belcher, age 76, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born July 31, 1935 in Beefhide, Kentucky, the son of the late William “Willie” Belcher and Dahlia Smallwood Belcher.

Bill was a 1953 graduate of Coalton High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of Bill’s Auto Service for over 40 years. Bill attended The Truth Church in Hamden and was an avid Bible reader. He enjoyed stock car racing and drag car racing.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lila A. Mathias Belcher; six children, William Gregory Belcher (Patricia) of Hamden, Jeffrey Wade Belcher (Betty) of McArthur, Kevin Scott Belcher (Jamie) of Chillicothe, Lila Frances Woody (Cale) of Georgia, Shawn Lee Belcher (April) of Georgia and Michael Evan Belcher of Wellston; brothers, Gerald Belcher (Fern) of Chillicothe and Michael Belcher (Sharon) of Circleville; sisters, Marlene Rutland of Louisiana, Sylvia Jean Mizell of Louisiana and Patricia Croushore of Florida; as well as nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Priscilla Belcher.
