Charles O. Clay

Charles O. Clay, age 83, of Jackson, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Chillicothe. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky September 1, 1928 to the late Albert and Esther (Ross) Clay. He was a Korean War Army Veteran.

He is survived by wife, Eloise (Dixon) Stewart Clay of Jackson; brothers, Jack Clay of Jackson and Lloyd (Pat) Clay of Jackson; daughter, Dixie (Kenneth) Culver of Greensboro, NC; grandsons, Braden and Sergi Culver of Greensboro, NC.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by first wife, Donna (Gilliland) Clay; one son, Thomas Clay; sisters, Betty Sherman and Wanda Reigel; brother, Floyd Clay and several nieces and nephews.

The family also wants to thank their guardian angel during Charles’ illness, Michael Chenault — “He was there for us and our needs.”

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Eisnaugle-Lewis Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Folk officiating and burial will follow in Bethel Ridge Cemetery. A military graveside service will be conducted by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #45 of Jackson.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at the funeral home.
