Arvin K. Cyrus, 60, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012, in Vinton County, Ohio. He was born April 3, 1952, in Ray, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elza and Sarah (White) Cyrus; and brothers-in-law, Darvis Coffey and Steve Shoults.

Arvin was a graduate of McArthur High School, manager of the meat department at Save-A-Lot, an avid outdoorsman, and a member of the VFW, AMVETS and NRA.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Coffey Cyrus; daughters, Stephanie Cyrus, Monica Cyrus Bevins, and Kelli Cyrus; stepdaughter, Rhonda Hughes and stepson, Tom Ruesch; brothers, Lloyd (Barbara) Cyrus, and Larry (Tina) Cyrus; sisters, Ivella Cyrus, Lois (Bob) Scott, Kay (Rick) Long, and Charlotte Shoults; brothers-in-law, David Coffey, Brock Coffey, Curt Coffey, and Gary Coffey; sisters-in-law, Yvonne DeHart, Margaret Whitehead, and Wilma Adams; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved pet Abbey.

Funeral service will be at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 12 with the Rev. Glen Wiseman and Rev. Greg Burke officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
