Today, August 1, 2013, our Father in Heaven called home a wonderful man, Gene Raymond Smith. He was a loving husband to his wife, Sue Pittenger Smith for 47 years, and a loving father to Debbie Sue Smith and Gene Raymond Smith and his wife, Julie Bowlby Smith. He will be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a special niece, Rachel and her husband, Zach Kearns.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Brown Smith and father Earl Ivan Smith; his sisters, Pauline Davis and Pamela West; and his brother, Earl “Sonny” Smith.
Surviving brothers and sisters are Randy (Donna) Smith, Larry Richard (Evelyn) Smith, Earlma (Harold) Nelson, Shirley Smith, Bruce (Donna) Smith, Greg (Kim) Smith and Debbie (Randy) Bishop.
Gene will be missed by so many family and friends. He is now living in his cabin in Heaven.
At Gene’s request, his body was cremated and there will be no services. Private burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to be given in Gene’s memory to the Adena Cancer Center, 4435 State Route 159, Chillicothe, Ohio, 45601.
