Robert “Bob” Williams

Robert Leroy “Bob” Williams, age 71, of Wellston, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at his home. He was born August 15, 1950, at home in Wellston, the youngest son of Everett and Ruth Coyle Williams.

Bob was a self-employed truck driver for most of his life. He enjoyed deer hunting and going to the “big sky country” trying to find that elusive patch of mushrooms. Bob also enjoyed watching Gunsmoke on television, mowing the grass, and drinking coffee in his man cave. He was affectionately known as “Birdman” and for telling his famous stories and he could also work a math problem for anyone in five seconds.

Bob loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his two great-grandchildren, whom he loved and adored beyond measure. He will forever be missed by family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol J. Stiffler Williams; daughters, Tami Norman and Angie Williams; grandchildren, Ashley Remy (Jeff) and Derek “DJ” Norman (Renea Leach); great-grandchildren, Sophia Remy and Greyson Norman; his pets, Toby and Lucy; brother, Carl Williams (Brenda); sister, Sharon Hutchison (Joe); sisters-in-law, Ann Williams and Dorothy Williams; brother-in-law, Milford Manring; along with several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert “Chris” Williams, in 1996; brothers, Joe, Larry and Bill Williams; sister, Delores “Sis” Manring; and his beloved son-in-law, Robert “Rob” Norman.

Calling hours will be Friday, December 17th, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 18, at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Russ Strange officiating. Burial will be in Byer Cemetery.
