Gladys M. Faught

Gladys M. Faught, age 77, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born Jan. 31, 1942 in Allensville, Ohio to the late Albert Hayes Smith and Sarah Elizabeth Williams Smith. 

Gladys was a 1960 graduate of Wilton South High School in Wilkesville.  She started her working career on Sept. 19, 1960, when she became employed as a bookkeeper for Dr. Richard H. Billman, O.D. and continued working with Dr. Richard Billman II, O.D. until her retirement, for a total of 53 years of employment with the Billman family. 

Gladys was a member of the Petrea Free Will Baptist Church, where she attended for several years.  In her spare time, Gladys enjoyed reading, crocheting and lovingly taking care of her cats. 

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Owen and Melissa Faught of Jackson; granddaughter, Rebecca Ruth Faught of Warsaw, Indiana; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn and Wilma Faught of Canal Winchester; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Clyde Norton of Wellston; along with several nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gerald Thomas Faught in 2010; and her grandmother who raised her, Betty Shiveley. 

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home Wellston.  Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m.  Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
