Robert Joseph “Joe”Hayden, age 76, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Friday, May 2, 2014. Joe was born May 15, 1937, to the late Dallas and Ida Mary (Hughes)Haydon.
Joe was a 1955 graduate of Oak Hill High School. He was employed for many years by the Grant Trucking Company in Oak Hill. He also worked for and retired from the Goodyear Atomic Corporation. He enjoyed playing golf and was a fan of the Mighty Oaks and OSU football.
Joe is survived by his wife, Ruthie (Wilson) Haydon; daughters, Joalynn (Patrick) Shafer and Kristi (William) Lester; grandchildren, Ashley (Ronald) Osborne, Nicholas Moore, Linzae Haydon Gallagher, Karlie Lester, Stephanie Lester, Megan (Cody) Fulks, and Jordan Shafer; brother, Jack Haydon; and adored by his five great-grandchildren, Lilu, Addison, Roxi, Aubree, and Odin.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, William Haydon.
Friends may call at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio on Tuesday, May 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Stan Howard officiating.
