Melba F. Herbert

Melba F. Herbert, age 85, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016. Melba was born on September 12, 1930 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Chester and Goldie (Crabtree) Reese.

Melba was a strong, independent woman. She worked as a secretary for Bell Labs (AT&T) for many years and was a member of Galloway Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Herbert; siblings, John (Ellen) Reese, Denver Reese, Guy “Weldon” Reese, Helen (Eugene) Leonard and Madeline (Willis) White; and her dog, Freddie. She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Paul (Meda) Reese and Wanda (Harold) Burgess; niece, Sabrina (Chris) Durant; great-nephews, Chris (Elizabeth) and Zachary Durant; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Reese and Edith Reese; and other family members.

Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Schoedinger Grove City Chapel, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016.
