Maxine (Barnhill) Jones

Maxine (Barnhill) Jones, age 97, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the First Colonial Inn in Virginia Beach, Virginia where she has resided for the last few years. Maxine was born November 19, 1917, and was raised in Jackson County, Ohio. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson until September 2011, when she moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Maxine was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, as well as a past member of the Jackson Century Club, Jackson Study Club, and the Welsh Cardiff Club. She was a well-known, avid bridge player.

Maxine is survived by her sons, David (Georgia) Jones of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Donald (Joy) Jones of Tullahoma, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Denise (Craig) Bann, Todd Jones, Scott (Michele) Jones, Morgan (Kaori) Jones, and Tyler (Kim) Jones; as well as eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Hugh Barnhill; cousins, and many nieces and nephews that were very dear to her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Jones, long-time owner of Tri-Town Motors.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
