Viola Elkins

Viola Lena (Workman) Elkins, age 94, of Jackson, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 at Holzer Assisted Living. She was born August 8th, 1926 in Strange Creek, West Virginia to the late Troy Everette and Rosa L. (Coulter) Workman.

Viola enjoyed spending time with her family, her church, bowling, playing cards, working puzzles, and her dog Bella. She was a member of the Jackson Church of Christ.

She is survived by her son, Ivan Gale Elkins; daughters, Brenda (Clyde) Holdren and Bonita (Don) Yeager; nine grandchildren: Stephanie (Jason) Arsenault, Christopher (Tracy) Elkins, Jonathan (Heather) Elkins, Jennifer Brooke (Elkins) Stoerkel, Brent Elkins, Jason (Stephanie) Elkins, David (Tiffany) Holdren, Michael (Jessica) Holdren, and Melony Yeager; 28 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Josephine Huffman and Betty Fredersdorff.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Ivan L. Elkins; a son, Glen Elkins; daughters-in-law, Brenda (Smith) Elkins and Drema (Cooper) Elkins; and 12 siblings.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 21st, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Fairmount Cemetery. Per CDC and governor guidelines, everyone is asked to wear a mask and practice proper social distancing. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
