Roma J. House Thompson, age 89, of Westerville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020 at Paramount Senior Living in Westerville, Ohio.  The youngest of three daughters, she was born at home on the family farm in Wellston, Ohio on Dec. 23, 1930 to the late George Nathan House and Nellie Faye Broyles House.

Roma was a graduate of Wellston High School with the Class of 1948.  A vivacious, intelligent and God-loving woman, Roma was a loving homemaker and pastor’s wife the majority of her life.  She enjoyed reading, participating in church activities and prayer groups, and in her own words, “just sitting, rocking and staring.” Along with her sparkling, thoughtful and friendly personality, Roma will also be remembered for her beautiful soprano voice which she shared in many ways.  She was a member of the Columbia Heights United Methodist Church in Galloway, Ohio.

Roma is survived by daughter, Roma Johnson-Egea (Sergio) of Westerville; son, H. Nathan Thompson (Mary Jo) of Franklin, Kentucky; grandsons, Timothy Thompson of Ft. Knox, Kentucky and Jonathan Thompson of Fairbanks, Alaska; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Roma was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Homer Thompson, Jr.; and sisters, Susie Belle Goheen and Betty Jean Hutt Mathias.

There will be no public funeral services.  Private burial will be at the convenience of the family in Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson.  For those who wish, memorial contributions in Roma’s memory can be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 644 Linn Street, Suite 1026, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203; or a favorite charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
