Robert Earl Jenkins, age 77, of Hamden, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born June 16, 1935 in Wellston, Ohio to the late David N. and Ethel Marie West Jenkins.

Bob was a 1953 graduate of Wilkesville High School. He was a former truck driver, mechanic and garage owner and was an avid amateur radio operator, known as KB8TNI.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Newman Jenkins; children, Terry (Roxy) Jenkins of Albany, Vicky Jenkins of Wellston, Lori (George) Everetts of Columbus, Bobby Jenkins of Bryan, Oh., Penny Nelson of Columbia, S.C., Robert Jenkins III of Portsmouth and Laura Elliott of Portsmouth; brother, Edward Franklin (Shirley) Jenkins of Wellston; brother-in-law, Larry (Dorothy) Newman of Hamden; sister-in-law, Betty Norton of Radcliff as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Bill Newman, Bob Newman, Dig Norton and John Kisor and sisters-in-law, Margie Kisor and Pat Newman.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Jamie Fortner officiating. Following cremation, burial will be in the Hamden Cemetery.
