Etta Pearl Parks passed away on December 13, 2021, at Grant Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Pearl, as most of her family and friends know her, was 97 years young with a full life of stories and experiences she often shared. Many of the stories, along with her language were, shall we say, colorful. Pearl shared a special bond with her two sisters, Lillian “Lil”, 99 years young, and Phyllis “Tootie,” 92 years young. Friends and family are always asking for stories about the Golden Girls of Jackson. Even now, as we share stories about Pearl, our tears are mixed with laughter. You always knew Pearl was in the room.
Pearl is survived by her son, Randy Parks (Enora); grandchildren: Rachel Parks (Jeremy Willis) and Caleb Parks; great granddaughters: Katelyn Nunley and Aeris Parks; sisters: Lillian Lewis and Phyllis Keller; and brother Dick Riggle (Mary Ann). Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell “Bud” Parks; parents: Homer and Della Riggle; sister, Lucille Davis; and brothers: Robert and Wiley Riggle.
As per her wishes, there will be no service. Later, there will be a graveside gathering for family and friends.
