Orlan Edwin Farrar, age 81, of Jackson, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2016 at his home. He was born November 26, 1934 to the late Orville E. and Clara Mae (Addis) Farrar.
He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Ruth (McGoon) Farrar of Jackson, Ohio; sons, Kerry Farrar of Jackson, Ohio and Kevin (Nancy) Farrar of Tennessee; daughter, Sheri (Todd) Ghearing of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren: Kirsten (David) Blum, Joel Farrar, Stacy Mott, Tracy Danielle (Travis) Barber, Samantha (Max) Aumaier, Emily and Sarah Farrar, and Jared, Brandon, Garrett, and Collin Ghearing; nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard E. “Rick” Farrar, an infant daughter, and two brothers: Gerald Owen Farrar and Lowell Dean Farrar.
Orlan was Owner and Operator of O.E. Farrar and Sons Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning. He continued to work in the plumbing trade until his retirement. After retirement, he enjoyed his grandchildren and woodworking. He was a member of The Rock Church.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
