Leah Williams

Leah Williams, age 75, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 1, 2020, at her home.  She was born Aug. 27, 1945 in Wellston, Ohio to the late John Wesley Barlow and Elsie Ruth Rowland Barlow. 

Leah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who was also a former employee of Edgewood Manor in Wellston.  She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Faith Baptist Church of Wellston.  Leah enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, and she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children, Melissa Lewis, Joe Williams, Jr. (Julie) and Kristi Rose, all of Wellston; grandchildren, Payton Marquis (Chad), Timber Lewis, Shelby O’Dell, Cameron Williams (Kelsi Martin) and Jalee Brown; great-grandchildren, Lauryn Marquis and Blakely Williams; sisters, Tawni Cumbow (Dan) of Gahanna and Deborah White of Florida; sister-in-law, Margaret Barlow of Wellston; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Besides her parents, Leah was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, and long-time coal truck driver, Joe Williams in 2002; son-in-law, Jerry Rose; and brothers, Andrew, John, Richard and Paul Barlow; and sisters, Sylvia Landrum, Ruth Ann Baker and Rosie Mae Barlow. 

In keeping with Leah’s wishes, her body was cremated.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family beside her husband in Byer Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
