Janet L. Atwood Fitzpatrick, age 80, passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 30, 2021, with her family at her side at the Ohio Health Hospice’s Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on Feb. 10, 1940, at Byer, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Pearl Betts Atwood. She was a 1958 graduate of Wellston High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Wendell Fitzpatrick; her son, Dennis Durham; and her daughter-in-law, Lora Durham.
She is survived by her children: Jerry (Robin) Durham, Keith Durham, Sue Ann Hammond, and John (Linda) Fitzpatrick; her brother, Lawrence (Jeanette) Atwood; and her many grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
She was loved by all who knew her, including her many close friends whom she considered family and loved them with all her heart.
The family invites all to pay their final farewell to Janet at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. The funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Mark Bales. Burial will follow in the Shilo Cemetery.
