Howard Frisby

Howard W. Frisby, age 91, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in Saipan, where he had lived with his daughter for the past 2 years.  He was born April 19, 1930 in Coalton, Ohio to the late James H. Frisby and Roxie Meachem Frisby. 

Howard was a veteran of the United States Army, having served with the 39th Field Artillery; 3rd Division.  He was a former employee of Frick-Gallagher Manufacturing in Wellston, from where he retired with 39 years of service.  Howard was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coalton, the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston, and attended the Wellston Senior Citizens.  He was also a former member of both the V.F.W. and the Eagles.  Howard is survived by his daughters, Barbara Frisby of Wellston and Roxie Lamar (Daniel) of Saipan; grandchildren, Valerie Sexton (Joshua), Steven Frisby and Soliel Lamar; great-grandchildren, Raine Sexton, Kalob Frisby, Shine Sexton, and Emmitt Frisby; brother, Lew Frisby, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Besides his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Peggy Jean Duhl Frisby in 2011; son, Rex Frisby; sisters, Olive Steel, Ruth Shook and Verna Potts; and brothers, Raymond, Owen, Mac, and Harold Frisby. 

In keeping with Howard’s wishes, his body was cremated.  A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coalton with Pastor Andy Rawlins officiating. 

Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
