Helen Williams, age 85, of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, June 16. She was born in Pike County, Kentucky on November 18, 1935 to the late Claude and Georgia (King) McCown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lewis Williams; a son, Thomas “Shane” Williams; a granddaughter, Brooke Williams; a brother, Brady McCown; and a sister, Margaret Wallace.
She is survived by her sons: Gary “Mike” Williams and Brian (Michelle) Williams; a foster son, Thomas Hughes; grandchildren: Bobby (Leilani) Williams, Breanna Williams, and step-grandson, Paul Orndoff; along with several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Helen loved to knit and sew. She also enjoyed working in her garden, cooking big dinners, and listening to gospel music.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Sunday, June 20, with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service, from 1 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
