Eula M. McManus, age 88, of Hamden, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. She was born January 21, 1927 in Wellston, Ohio, the daughter of the late Warren Bayes and Maude Starkey Bayes.
Eula was a 1944 graduate of Wellston High School. She was a former employee of the Vinton County School District, where she was head cook at Hamden Elementary for 17 years, and was also a former employee of Hercules Trouser Company in Wellston for 14 years.
Eula is survived by her children, Brenda L. McManus of Hamden and James P. McManus, Jr. (Bev) of Hamden; grandchildren, Kristin McManus Kisor (Richie), Sean McManus (Abbe) and Derek McManus; great-grandchildren, Tressa Lambert and Brooklyn Case, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Eula was preceded in death by her husband, James P. McManus, Sr., on November 1, 2000; son, David Allen McManus, and 13 siblings.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Eberts officiating.
