Dorothy Irene (Riddlebarger) Ratliff

Dorothy Irene (Riddlebarger) Ratliff, age 89, of Oak Hill, formerly of Scioto County, passed away in National Church Residences (Traditions) on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 2:28 p.m.  She was born Nov. 3, 1930 in Scioto County to the late Wilbur and Olivia (Morrison) Riddlebarger. 

She is survived by her sons, John (Penny) Ratliff and Michael (Doris) Ratliff; step daughters whom she thought of as actual daughters, Wanda (Jessie) Thomas and Nancy (Paul) Holloway; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Samuel; brothers, Mervin, Russell, Johnnie and Albert; and sisters, Flora, Margaret, Bertha, Caroline, Frances and Myrtle.

Mom spent her final years at Traditions extended care facility due to multiple health issues, where she enjoyed her Bingo and word find puzzles.  She also volunteered and watched over her fellow residents. 

She will be buried in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Oak Hill with a private graveside service.  No calling hours will be observed due to her wishes to keep everyone safe and well.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Church Residences at www.nationalchurchresidences.org/donate/chillicothe/

The family would like to thank the staff at National Church Residences (Traditions), for their years of loving care; and the staff at NCR Hospice for their gentle care and compassion.
