Delmar Freeman Harris, Sr.

Delmar F. Freeman Harris, Sr., age 72, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born January 29, 1946 in Jackson, Ohio, the son of the late Lloyd Williams and Faye Freeman Williams.

Delmar was a former coal miner and a certified welder. In his spare time, Delmar loved to go fishing and hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda K. Ewing Harris; children, Jeffrey Dale Freeman (Barbara Adams) of Alabama, Delmar Fredrick Harris, Jr. (Tara) of Wellston, Richard Allen Harris of Wellston, and April Dawn Terry (Leland) of Wellston; brothers, Elva Williams (Mary Lou) of Franklin Furnace and Rick Williams of Columbus; sisters, Sharon Allen (Daniel) of Jackson, Martha Hamblin (Ed) of Wellston, Gloria King of Wellston and Twila Ferguson of Columbus, along with 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Delmar was preceded in death by sisters, Pamela Cash, Rebecca King, and infant sister, Julie Renea Williams; brother, Harry Wayne Williams; brothers-in-law, Charles W. Ewing and Dwight E. Ratcliff; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James L. Ewing and Marilyn S. Ewing.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 A.M. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Will Gillem officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
