Carolyn R. Canterbury

Carolyn R. Canterbury, age 76, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.  She was born Feb. 13, 1944 in Vinton County, Ohio to the late Glendon Ray Massie and Ida Madileen Humphreys Massie. 

Carolyn retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber, where she was employed for over 20 years.  In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and she always had to watch her favorite television show, “Days of Our Lives”. 

She is survived by her son, Darrell Lambert of Wellston; grandchildren, Darren Lambert II and Shelby Lambert Beatty, both of Wellston; brothers, Mac Massie of Hamden, Tom Massie of Dundas, Jackie Massie of Hamden, and Kent Massie of Hamden; sisters, Sue Harmon of Columbus, Joyce Byler of Jackson, and Glenna Piotrowski of Indiana; along with three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Canterbury; son, Darren Lambert; grandson, William “Billy” Lambert; and brothers, Wayne, Bob and Dennis Massie. 

In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, her body will be cremated.  Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
