Barbara Ellen “Barb” Conn, age 49, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 1, 2021, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson.
She was born June 26, 1971 in Charleston, West Virginia to Donald W. Goodson and Sandra M. Sharp Goodson. Barb graduated from Wellston High School in 1989. She later received her nursing degree from Buckeye Hills School of Nursing. Barb was a LPN who loved her profession. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed cheering for her team. Barb was a lover of music. She enjoyed listening to music, singing, and playing the piano. She also enjoyed taking care of her dogs and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Barb is survived by her parents, Don and Sandy Goodson of Wilkesville; husband of 29 years, Brian Conn; children, Ashley Sherman (Adam) of Florida and Logan Conn (Sami) of Wellston; grandsons, Noah, Max and Leonidas; brother, Donnie Goodson (Tina) of Wilkesville; sister, Teresa Cox (Paul) of West Virginia; sisters-in-law, Sharon Angles of Florida and Lisa Vires (Scott) of Wellston; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herby and Jean Conn. Calling hours will be Monday, April 5, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 6 p.m. with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. In keeping with Barb’s wishes, cremation will follow the services.
For those unable to attend the services, Barb’s funeral service will be live-streamed on the McWilliams Funeral Home website starting at 6 p.m. on Monday. For those choosing to attend the services, facial coverings are required inside the building along with the practice of social distancing.
