Charles Waldron

Charles Waldron, 87, of McArthur, Ohio, passed away on March 3, 2012 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born April 19, 1924 in Vinton County, son of the late Charles D. and Madge A. Waldron. Charles was married to Nancy McKnight Waldron who survives. They had been married for 51 years.

Charles was in the Forestry Industry and was a WW II Army veteran. He was a member of the McArthur Church of the Nazarene, a member of Robert Wycoff Post #303, American Legion, a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary, and the Ohio Forestry Association. He enjoyed his family, his church, the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and was a world traveler.

Charles is survived by daughters, Rose M. Clendenning of Columbus, and Dana (Mike) Eberts of Jackson; a son, Roy D. (Glenda) Waldron of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Kevin (Angie) Waldron, Scott (Cindy) Sark, Brad Sark, Phillip Richards, Rodney Waldron, Ryan Waldron, Michael Eberts, and Kyle (Laura) Eberts; nine great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Ron Sark of Columbus and several nephews and nieces that were very special to him.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Sark; brothers, John, James, Oather, Paul, Warden, and Roy S. Waldron; and sisters, Mary Waldron and Hazel (Harley) Dozer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the McArthur Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Bill Roth officiating. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery. Friends may call at the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, McArthur on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the services. Military graveside services will be conducted by McArthur VFW Post # 5299.
