Ronald D. Hatten, age 64, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at his residence. He was born Oct. 3, 1950 in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (McManis) Hatten and mother, Betty (Tripp) Hatten.

He is survived by his father, Harold Hatten Sr. and stepmother, Betty Hatten; children: Dannetta (Jamie Ratcliff) Spencer, Dan (Melissa) Spencer, Lisa Spencer, Jason (Renee) Hatten, Sarah (Randy) Tobert, Rachel (Jeff) Russell and Chad Spencer; two brothers, Harold (Medaline) Hatten Jr. and Gary (Debbie) Hatten; sister, Pamela (Danny) Salyers; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces and special grandson, Brandon “Boo” Loudermilk.

He was a Native American story teller, “Blue Jacket”; a recognized world historian of the Upper Kispoko Band and took pride in giving presentations at schools.

No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 22 at the Promised Land Church, 703 Pattonsville Rd., Jackson, Ohio.

Arrangements are under direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home.
