Steven A. Moshier, age 56, of Wellston, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 2, 2019, as the result of a tragic automobile accident in Van Wert, Ohio.  He was born Nov. 1, 1962 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late Dale L. Gill and Nancy J. Moshier Gill.

Steve was a 1981 graduate of Wellston High School, and while attending high school, he was employed by the Wellston City Recreation Board.  Following graduation, Steve was hired by Brenner’s Grocery where he was employed as their meat cutter.  In 1987, he started employment at Merillat Industries, where he was employed for over 25 years until the closing of the plant.

Presently, Steve was a certified boiler operator at Northwest Hardwoods in Hamden.  Steve was a former active member of the Wellston Ohillco Society Board of Directors.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He loved having and going to yard sales, as well as attending flea markets and going gambling, all with his best friend, his wife.  He loved reading science fiction books, of which he gained quite a collection, along with Mopar Hot Wheels.

Just a short year and a half ago, Steve was given a second chance at life by being the recipient of a successful liver transplant, thanks to the generosity of an organ donor’s family.  At the end of his life, Steve was also a donor in hopes of giving others a better life.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jean Ann McWilliams Moshier; brothers, Bryan Gill and Aaron Gill (Fawn Hill); sister, Cheryl Brady; niece, Emily Brady; great-niece, Aria; aunts, Rita Ousley and Clara Murray; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Patty McWilliams; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Sharon McWilliams; nephews, Josh McWilliams (Kayla), Alex McWilliams (Audrey) and Morgan McWilliams (Amber), along with several other great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  A Celebration of Life service will be Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.  Steve requested cremation to follow.
