Randy Sizemore

Randy Sizemore, age 67, of Waverly, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017 from the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born Sept. 18, 1949 in Scioto County, Ohio to the late James Elmer Sizemore and Mary Marie Roof Sizemore.

Randy, a 1967 graduate of Jackson High School, was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was an electrician who was employed at the Atomic Plant in Pike County for 35 years and was also a retired Free Will Baptist Minister, having formerly pastored the Zion #3 Church. Randy was also a former member of the Jackson County Veterans Service Commission. A basketball enthusiast, Randy ran the scoreboard for the Wellston City Schools basketball program for 30 years.

He is survived by his Christmas Day bride of 47 years, Dorothy Louella “Dottie” (Burke) Sizemore; three children, James Daniel Sizemore (Barbara) of Circleville, Jennifer Brooke Carpenter (Tracy) of Coalton, and Phillip Randall Sizemore (Katie) of Wellston; eight grandchildren, Josie (Matt), Leia, Brooklyn, Lily, Lydia, Colin, Daniel and Nolan; four sisters, Helen Goodman of McArthur, Janet Brady (Raney) of Creola, Esther Gilliland (Larry) of Ashville and Patty Reeves (Dick) of Zaleski; mother-in-law, Barbara “Dub” Burke of Coalton, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Besides his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Cartee and Judy Brown.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Jackson First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Wayne Searls officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Coalton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions in Randy’s name be given to the Jackson First Church of the Nazarene Veterans’ Breakfast, c/o 251 Powell Drive, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
